TV Size Guide

How to organize compact, mainstream and large-screen products for a target market.

Screen size is the simplest way to organize a television range, but it should not be treated as the only buying decision. A useful size plan also considers the intended room, price position, viewing distance, product category and expected quantity.

Give each size group a clear role

Compact sizes can support space-conscious rooms, value-focused retail and selected project use. Mainstream sizes often form the center of a product list, while larger screens extend the assortment for buyers who need a stronger visual step-up.

The right mix depends on the destination market. Website categories help organize the discussion, but local sales data and the buyer's own channel knowledge should guide quantities.

  • 17-24 inches: compact product group.
  • 28, 32, 40, 43 and 46 inches: mainstream product group.
  • 50-65 inches: large-screen product group.

Compare more than the diagonal

Two televisions with the same diagonal can differ in cabinet proportions, stand design, resolution category, software category and available interfaces. A size decision should therefore be followed by a confirmed product document.

When building a mixed-size request, identify which products are essential and which are optional. This helps sales understand the priority if availability or commercial conditions differ.

  • Confirm the product category for each size.
  • Ask for the current appearance and specification reference.
  • Separate essential sizes from optional additions.

Prepare a practical size request

A useful first message lists the destination country, required sizes and expected quantity for each size. It can also state whether the buyer is planning a retail range, distribution program or project supply.

Avoid asking only for a generic price list. Price and availability can change with the selected product, quantity structure and confirmed commercial requirements.

  • Country or target market.
  • Screen sizes and quantity by size.
  • Basic LED or Smart TV category.
  • Important points that require written confirmation.
